This is an answer to my practice prayers. Works like a charm. It was easy to set up and works just as I thought it would. Plug in my iPod, guitar and even my computer to play along with my favorite bands. Headphone jack adds extra value as I can play and not bother my family.

Model: JamDock
Release Date: 2009-06-01
Amazon.com Product Description:
Integrate your Apple iPod into any practice or live music setup with the Alesis JamDock, which enables you to connect and mix in nearly any instrument including electronic drums and send your mix to the stereo outputs and headphone output. Designed specifically for musicians, you can also use your iPod to play backing tracks live.
| The JamDock has two 1/4-inch inputs that work with both line-level sources and high-impedance guitars and basses. The inputs sum to mono when there is only one side present, so you'll hear your guitar on both sides of your headphones. A pair of 1/4-inch outputs feed your amplifier or PA system, and a 1/4-inch stereo output feeds your headphones. You can use JamDock on a flat surface, such as a guitar amp, or mount it on a drum rack or stand using the e-percussion Module Mount, sold separately. The JamDock also comes with a trial subscription for drumless songs from minusDrums.com for fun play-along sessions. Key Features

Alesis AM1 Dynamic Microphone and Connect Cable
Tagged Under : Alesis, Connect, Dynamic, Microphone
This is a terrific little mixer - it has a an easy to use interface, comes bundled with a powerful software suite (Steinberg Cubase LE) ample input and output options, and allows you to do true simultaneous multitrack recording with little or no latency in monitoring. I've been using it for a few months now - and was dismayed momentarily when I upgraded my Mac to Leopard, but Alesis was quickly forthcoming with a new driver, and now it works beautifully, and if anything better than it did before the OS upgrade! As a recording artist, I've found it the perfect tool for generating a song sketchbook - its so easy to set up and start recording. But for audiophiles not happy with the sound their computers generate, it might be a good upgrade for you too - essentially, the MultiMix becomes your sound card - with truly Hi Fidelity output. You'll be amazed at how much better iTunes sounds through one of these than with a native sound card.
Highly recommend this item!

Tiny, but Tough!
I'm truly amazed at the versatility of the MultiMix8 FireWire! I heeded Mr. Talerico's advice and downloaded/installed the Mac OS.X (Leopard) upgrade before setting up the mixer. Everything ran perfectly, first time out of the chute!
I'm getting re-acquainted with Cubase, starting with the bundled "lite" version: Cubase 4LE - a not-particularly-subtle attempt to get the user to upgrade to the more sophisticated - and vastly more expensive - Studio suite (which I'll probably purchase down the road. Yeah, they got me; I've always like the Cubase & VST platform, starting waaaay back in the Atari Falcon days).
I've noticed that the MultiMix gets quite toasty, but nothing alarming. All-in-all, this is the best little tabletop mixer I've seen in a long while.. Highly recommended!

Alesis M1 Active 320 USB Studio Monitor Pair

Hindsight 20/20
I just purchased these monitors to use with my macbook. I have always used KRK monitors to reference recording and while I really enjoyed them. these little 3" monitors do the same thing for the most part. I have them connected to my macbook via usb and they sound superb. I also run a pair of 1/4" jacks from my fucusrite interface into the back of them for monitoring my Logic Pro recordings. I know there are better monitors on the market, but for someone looking for a decent set at a great price, check out these.

Hosa 5' DB-9 Male to DB-9 Male D-Sub Sync & Control Cable for the Alesis Digital Audio Tape, ADAT, Hard Disk Recorders.
Tagged Under : 5', Alesis, Control, DIGITAL, Recorders.
Hosa's friends at Alesis use 9-pin "D-Sub" cables to synchronize two or more ADAT or ADAT-XT digital multitrack recorders, and to connect their BRC remote control. They changed their original specification for synchronization cables when it was found that ADAT power users with 2 or more ADATs and a BRC remote were putting a lot of bi-directional signal through that cable, creating crosstalk within the cable, which caused loss of sync and other strange phenomena. Be advised that Hosa offers the CMT-400DS Series 9-pin D-sub cables made to the new, exacting specification. (The "DS" in the Hosa model number stands for double-shielded.) Available in five different lengths, CMT-400DS Series cables from Hosa are guaranteed ADAT compatible!
